Too often when a storm hits, lightning strikes and too much electricity surges through cables across the house – frying unprotected devices in its path. This can hit desktops and other power cables for your IT equipment
However, if your devices are plugged into a UPS Battery Backup, then there is a wall between them and the electric shock – a so-called “surge protector”. Plus, the battery backup can hopefully provide power long enough for you to properly shut down your desktop. Otherwise, your computer might suddenly shut down during automatic updates or while you have unsaved files open! Laptops have a built-in battery, but a surge of electricity might also hit them.
So while we are experiencing these summer storms, we strongly advise you to equip your computer with a UPS Battery Backup!
